Objective:
A network of jewellery stores and pawn shops across Ukraine sought to enhance their corporate information portal, aiming to improve efficiency, update outdated technologies, and optimize data management processes.
Challenge:
The client's corporate website faced several challenges, including outdated architecture, inefficient data management, and reliance on outdated technologies like an older version of the Laravel framework. Additionally, data integrity and structure issues arose from the integration of data from 1C organizations, further complicating the project.
Solution:
The project began with a thorough analysis of the existing website and data structure. Updating the project architecture was prioritized, with a transition to the latest library packages for the Laravel platform, specifically version 9. Administrative tasks were streamlined using Orchid. To ensure data integrity, an audit of input data for import was conducted, addressing discrepancies and errors. The team also optimized the platform's security measures.
The project lasted for six months, initially starting with one specialist and later expanding to two. The team worked diligently to address the client's challenges and implement effective solutions.
Technologies:
We’ve used the latest technologies and libraries as:
- Laravel framework version 9
- Orchid for administrative tasks
- MySQL 8 for data storage and processing
- Docker container for platform deployment
- Exclusion of MongoDB due to its impracticality for the project's needs
Results:
The project's main accomplishments included:
- Rebooting the client's corporate information portal with a more efficient and updated architecture.
- Organizing training sessions for the client's personnel on project management principles, task setting, accounting, and reporting.
- Implementing optimizations to improve project security and efficiency.
- Conducting an audit of data from 1C organizations, identifying and rectifying data errors and discrepancies.
Despite facing challenges such as data structure issues and outdated technologies, the project achieved significant milestones. Over six months, the team revamped the corporate information portal, improving its efficiency and security. By updating the project architecture and implementing more productive technologies, the platform became more robust and scalable. The audit of data from 1C organizations not only addressed data errors but also helped the client improve their internal data management processes.
